When Shang prince Youshen Bupo saves Jiang Li, a disciple of the Taiyi Sect, a chance encounter turns into a bond that neither of them can escape. Traveling side by side across a vast and unforgiving wilderness, they survive one trial after another—joining a merchant caravan for protection, enduring heavenly tribulations, and fighting through vicious beasts that stalk the open land. But danger does not only come from nature. Bandits and rival forces circle like wolves, forcing the pair to rely on sharp instincts, martial strength, and hard-earned trust.
Their journey takes a dramatic turn when they rescue a young heroine caught in the crossfire of larger schemes. What begins as an adventure of survival slowly reveals a deeper web of power, secrets, and destiny pulling them forward. Bound together by fate, Youshen Bupo and Jiang Li are drawn into the heart of a looming conflict that threatens to consume everyone in its path.
As tensions ignite into a full-scale war between the Xia and Shang dynasties, the duo must choose where they stand—between loyalty and justice, duty and compassion, and personal bonds versus the demands of an empire. Blending Chinese fantasy, cultivation-style trials, and epic dynasty warfare, this story follows two travelers whose footsteps may decide the outcome of a war history tried to bury.

I find this series is great. Good character built up and interesting story line. Characters are good looking too. I don’t agree with the commenter’s comments.
My god, this donghua is so bad… not even the absurd animation can save it. The protagonist makes no sense, he is ugly and weak on purpose while everyone else seems the real protagonists…
